Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

COSMOS does not collect your personal information. We do not require you to create an account. We do not sell data. We use privacy-preserving analytics that do not track you across sites.

What we collect

  • Anonymous page views — via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting.
  • Location (optional) — only if you grant browser permission for Tonight's Sky. We do not store or transmit your coordinates to any server. All calculations happen in your browser.
  • Session settings — sound on/off, motion preference. Stored in your browser's sessionStorage only. Gone when you close the tab.

Third-party services

COSMOS fetches data from these external APIs. Their privacy policies apply to their services:

  • NASA APIs (api.nasa.gov) — public data, no personal info sent
  • Open Notify (open-notify.org) — ISS position, no personal info sent
  • TheSpaceDevs / Launch Library 2 — launch data, no personal info sent

Cookies

We use one functional cookie: whether you've seen the intro animation. This is strictly necessary for site function, not tracking. No consent banner needed under GDPR for functional-only cookies.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Since we collect no personal data tied to you, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions, contact us at @6Diggz on Twitter.
